Our core missions

Atlanta Jazz & Performing Arts Museum is a not-for-profit 501c3 Organization.

The museum is being formed to provide a unique diverse arts experience concerning the genre of jazz. The concept is to promulgate and preserve the history of jazz.

We plan to re-educate and re-invigorate all interest in a form of music originating in the U.S.

The museum is dedicated to providing the highest quality of services and education to its patrons. The most unique facet of the project is, there are 3 different industries combined under one umbrella. Tourism, Arts, and Entertainment will each accentuate the overall view on jazz.

   Target Market

Our core market for the museum is the type of person who can appreciate art and jazz in particular and is interested in an alternative to the typical commercial offerings in jazz and art experiences. There is no museum or organization in Atlanta that currently provides the services and emphasis that AJPAM will provide for the city. Our hardcore jazz patrons will be pleased to know that programming will be aimed in their direction, but with a different package. With our singular focus on jazz and other related arts, we have a solid direction and we are positioned as the premier source for jazz in Atlanta. The museum will be the main venue for jazz appreciation, enrichment, and enjoyment of all related arts and activities tied to the world of jazz.
Therefore a market focus will be on these benefits of visiting and participating in the museum. Through our diverse range of programs, a fresh experience for frequent visitors will provide an on-going development in the appreciation, enjoyment, and education that the museum offers.

Mission

This vision and concept were not an overnight idea or a mere suggestion, but a well-thought-out perception. There is a great need in the music world pertaining to jazz where this

genre needs to be rediscovered. There is no museum on
the art being provided and nurtured this vast anywhere.

We're not in competition with other jazz museums quite the contrary. We're all in this fight to save jazz and it's legacy to

ensure it remains prevalent in our African American history!

To do this we all must play our individual and collective parts to see this happen.

Jazz is not going anywhere but the legacy of it is being tampered with by some who have lost there  way in preserving its history.
This undertaking is so unorthodox that it can inspire the new and most faithful of jazz lovers.
We welcome the challenge
Because without a vision for the art, jazz will certainly perish!

Live Entertainment

The concert hall will be the crown jewel of the entire project!

Here is where the magic will occur. Artist will be able to perform in front of audiences who will be enthralled by the environment in which they play. This area of the museum will speak loudly about how live jazz should be enjoyed where every note played will be heard.

The sound acoustics will be like no other concert hall in the world. The best sound equipment developers in the industry will compete to design the perfect system
That designer will have there company name and logo representing
the hall. There will also be V.I.P. suites available for rental and for major contributors.

Did you know that jazz was born in the United States? Did you know that the drum set was invented by jazz musicians? Did you know that the word "cool" and "hip" were originally jazz terms?

Join us in learning more about the history of jazz from its birth in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the music we hear on the radio today. Grammy-Award winning trumpeter and Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center Wynton Marsalis invites you to take a tour of jazz — see the people, read about the events, and listen to the music. The following history is adapted from the Jazz for Young People Curriculum by Jazz at Lincoln Center. You will need RealAudio to listen to the music pieces.
