Our Mission,Objectives and Live jazz Concerts

The Atlanta Jazz & Performing Arts Museum mission is to ensure the history of jazz maintains its presence and significance in African American culture as well as in the world music industry.

We want to provide an enriched cultural alternative to the commercial jazz experience and to celebrate and promote the artistic elements involved in the process.

The museum will be all-inclusive diverse art and cultural experience for all ages to utilize, enjoy, learn and discover. It will also be a workplace of inclusion and respect, with a focus on professionalism, creativity, and ideas. It's vital to all involved that this venture is approached in a manner that shines the very best light on the art of jazz. AJPAM will fulfill a void that's been replaced by new technology and genres that didn't exist that long ago. As to the future of the said project, we predict jazz lovers will become more enthusiastic about the art and jazz artist will mentor young artist to ensure the legacy of jazz stays relevant today and tomorrow for generations to come.

During the first year of the Museum, our goals are:
To open the space in Atlanta with a unique art-deco build out, helped by Federal and State grants, in-kind and monetary donations of appropriate partners, individuals and businesses
To generate over 100,000 monthly in earned income by the end of the first year from a combination of concert ticket sales to various programming, memberships, retail sales in several departments, outreach, meeting space and other related rental services as well as internet and telephone services, and additional fundraising
To keep a strong gross profit margin of at least 70%from sales of products and services
To receive at least 250,000 in the first year from newly developed funding sources such as grants that come over time depending on deadlines and qualifications

The museum overall success will be predicated on the live concert events indoor and outdoor.

The main goal here is to put our patrons in a total jazz environment where the artist perform for them and afterward mix and mingle with them. I must admit a lot of this was my early experiences so I want jazz goers to see that this genre of the artist is engaging with their fans on a more personal level.

Latin jazz fusion

Latin jazz fusion

The popularity of this genre of jazz has been on the up rise for years now.
This region of the country especially Miami has a passion for dance. The salsa is the latest jazz dance craze and Atlanta has a huge following.
In the late 1940's and early 1950's musicians including
Mario Bauza and Dizzy Gillespie began to fuse jazz with Afro Cuban music,
meanwhile, the sounds of American jazz spread through the Caribbean. Latin jazz entices its listeners to move. It invites its audiences to dance.

Jazz and the LBGTQ Community

Jazz and the LBGTQ Community

AJPAM will be inclusive in all matters jazz and those who enjoy the sound of jazz. Atlanta has become ground zero for this community and will do our part to lend to their voice. Jazz has no boundaries

and support all those who have contributed to this art form.
In history sometimes the trailblazers get lost because of biases
and their works go unknown or simply overlooked due to society

Prejudices. We will honor those who performed jazz and not their personal choices

in life. Jazz belongs to us all not jazz some.
Terry and Jerry Lynn Artist

Terry and Jerry Lynn Artist "twin"

Identical twin brothers Jerry Lynn and Terry Lynn, make up the artistic duo known as Twin and theirs is one of the most incredible stories in the art industry. Each brother is a talented artist in his own right, but it’s their collaborative painting technique that has captured the attention of major collectors, institutes, and organizations across the country. Both artists paint on the same canvas at the same time to produce vibrant, highly textured images that are so succinct in technique and style that it cannot be distinguished as a collaboration by two artists.

A true artistic phenomenon, the painting styles, and techniques of Twin are as connected as their physical presence. Born, raised, and still residing in the suburbs of Memphis, Tennessee, the artists were highly influenced by the vibrant sounds of blues and jazz, which carries into their art. First published in 1995, the collaborative paintings of Twin are an overwhelming success. Offering a wealth of versatility, both artists are proficient at realism, as well as abstract painting styles; in working in oil or acrylic; and in fine art printmaking.

The brothers have accomplished much over the past two decades, including exhibitions in some of the country’s top art shows, but they’re not resting on their laurels. Twin has been the official artists of the Essence Music Awards, The Tom Joyner Foundation Cruise, The Kentucky Derby Grand Gala, Black Enterprise Golf & Tennis Challenge and The Links, Inc. to name just a few. They have also been featured at the renowned Black Fine Art Show in New York,

Their list of collectors reads like a Who’s Who of entertainment and includes Kanye West, Black Enterprise founder Earl Graves, Ralph White of Earth Wind and Fire, Singer/songwriter Kem, Alonzo & Tracey Mourning, BET Founder Bob Johnson, former NBA player and restaurant mogul Ulysses ‘Junior’ Bridgeman, and countless others. They have been featured in multiple magazine and publications
